Welcome to Twisted Feather, where we specialize in creating portable fly-tying chests that are perfect for any fly-fishing adventure. All of our products are handcrafted by Tim, a master craftsman with a passion for quality and precision. Tim's great-grandfather owned a mill in Connecticut in the 1800s'. You could say sawdust is in Tim's blood. Inspired by this legacy, Tim has spent years perfecting his craft and creating beautiful furniture pieces that translate down to beautiful fly-tying chests.

Our Story
Lyman Tibbals (1853-1926) “Olde Lyme” was a farmer in Norfolk, Connecticut. His property was deemed “the most self-sufficient farm in the region”. In addition to his farming chores, Lyman operated a waterwheel/belt-driven sawmill. A dam built on Hall Meadow Brook provided the hydropower to run the operation. Trees harvested in the region were brought to Tibbals’ Mill and were cut into lumber that supplied construction materials to the surrounding communities. Above, that’s me standing in front of what remains of the dam wall on his farm.
