The "Mackenzie" in Solid Wood

The "Mackenzie" is our premier chest for fly tyers of all skill levels. It is very popular for fly tying demonstrations as well as everyday use.  It measures 18 3/4" x 8 3/4" x 8" tall and weighs only 10 lbs. when empty. When opening with the unique pivot bar system, it expands to 34" wide, revealing ample storage for your materials. The top boxes can accommodate 24 spools of thread or wire. The center box, intended for your vise, tools and tool caddy lifts out to access the tying work surface. The work area also lifts to store additional longer materials below. The built-in vise clamp rail has three magnetized routed trays for hooks and beads. With the built-in vise clamp, you can securely fasten your vise directly to the base.  With the 6” x 16” wide work surface, there's plenty of room to tie your favorite patterns anywhere you go.

Handcrafted in a variety of select hardwoods including Cherry, Walnut, Rift Sawn White Oak, Ambrosia Maple or simulated Barnwood, this chest is an heirloom quality piece that will be treasured for years to come!

Available also for those using the Norvise! We can custom- fit a detachable mounting bar to which you can affix your Norvise system. The mounting bar simply installs on the front rail. Please contact us for more information.
